 This polished 304 stainless steel downpipe is an external wastegate setup.  We offer two sizes of wastegates, 38mm and 46mm.  I am running the 38mm version on my own GN and consistently run around 24 lbs of boost without any problems.   Includes all hardware and gasket for the turbo.

Just few tidbits on this downpipe.  It is designed to allow the use of all the aftermarket headers out there BUT will also work with the stock Buick headers.  Since the pipe is farther outboard than the stock downpipe and aftermarket downpipes designed to work with stock headers it requires some minor trimming of the inner fenderwell, real easy to do with a dremel tool.  Have a pic of how I trimmed it below.  My own GN is lowered with drop spindles and the front springs are also cut a bit so it sits REAL low.  Clearance to the upper control arm is tight if the car is lowered but so far so good on my GN.  Other than that the fit is excellent.  Just want my customers to know up front what to expect.  The downpipe is made a bit long at the bottom to accommodate different exhausts that are out there.  On my GN, I trimmed about 1" off to work with the optional dump pipe and a Hooker dual exhaust.  The OPTIONAL dump pipe available is a nice tight slip fit and no clamp is required.  As with any polished or chrome pipes, these downpipes will discolor a bit once subjected to heat!

I am a total novice with external wastegates so I am learning as I go.  I had previously used a Boost Commander with my internal wastegate on my Terry Houston downpipe and liked the way I could adjust the boost on the fly from inside the car.   I ended up taking the line off the internal wastegate and just attached it to the side fitting of the external gate.  It ended up working fine but did not give me high enough boost so I put in a 2nd wastegate solenoid to get more adjustment of boost.  Just wanted to put that out there for guys that are running this setup.  

If you do NOT already have a boost controller you WILL need to get one as the spring in the external wastegate is set for 10lbs.  We are carrying the Turbonetics 0-25 lb boost controller so you can order one of those if needed.  You can also use the RJC style boost controller as well as the many other types that are out there.

I see a lot of external gate downpipes being run out there without a turbo shield.  Really hate the look of that and want everyone to know that the custom turbo shields that we sell WILL FIT this downpipe without ANY mods.
